Commissioned by the Festival of Montpellier, this symphony casts away all reference to the traditional forma inherited from the past. The piece 'contains diverse and distant musical signals and is capable of being an open place. The themes reflect my sentiments in attempts to better understand the variegated languages of the Mediterranean and other multiethnic cities' (Sollima).
