Lamentatio is a work resulted from the mixture of different styles, with echoes of Mediterranean ethnic music and with strong references to the culture of Giovannis homeland, Sicily, and its "Easter lamentationes", which have roots in Gregorian chants. Sollima has then included it in the project Caravaggio, referring to the intense Sicilian period of the great painter.
