Luca Tiberini is an Italian pianist and composer of contemporary classical music and music for audiovisual media. His artistic vision builds bridges between classical music, applied arts, and contemporary culture, seeking to restore meaning, beauty, and depth to the human experience.

He is Professor of Music Theory and Practice for Dance and History of Music at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and serves as a Music Consultant for RAI at its Milan headquarters.

He graduated in Piano from the Arrigo Boito Conservatory of Parma, where he also pursued extensive academic studies in Composition and Orchestral Conducting. He later earned a First- Level Academic Diploma in Music for Film and Theatre from the Civica Scuola di Musica Claudio Abbado in Milan. Having studied composition privately with Giampaolo Testoni, he completed his Second-Level Academic Diploma (Master's Degree) in Composition at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome under the guidance of Silvia Colasanti.

His work has received several international awards, including First Prize at the UK International Music Competition 2023 for his Sinfonietta for orchestra; First Prize at the San Valentino Global Music Awards, which led to the performance of his Us – Romance for Violin and Piano at Carnegie Hall in New York; the Honourable Mention at the Brusa Foundation Award 2025 for his symphonic Scherzo; Second Prize at the 12th Lavagnino International Competition for Music for Images (2021); and finalist status at the 1st "Gnove Musiche – Filarmonici Friulani" International Composition Competition (Udine, 2019).

His catalogue includes numerous orchestral, chamber, and piano works, several of which have been performed in New York (Carnegie Hall), Antwerp, Rome (Santa Cecilia Conservatory), Milan (Milano Suona Contemporanea; Festival Cinque Giornate per la Nuova Musica), Turin (ErrePomeriggi Concert Season 2026), Mantua (Società Dante Alighieri), Parma (Arrigo Boito Conservatory; Casa della Musica), and Como (Festival del Melologo). His music has been published by Sconfinarte Edizioni and the historic Italian publishing house Casa Musicale Sonzogno, and performed by distinguished soloists, chamber ensembles, and orchestras, including violinist Zachary Braddom, violist Giuseppe Antonio Russo Rossi (Orchestra  of Teatro alla Scala), the Rome Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, and the Contemporary Music Ensemble of the Parma Conservatory.

After advanced piano studies with Cristiano Burato, he has performed as both soloist and chamber musician for institutions including RAI Radio 3, Piano City Milano, and Casa della Musica di Parma. He is also a member of Duo Petrichor, together with pianist Giulia Pomarelli, presenting a multimedia concert project for piano four hands centred on the theme of dance.

As a composer and producer for audiovisual media, he has created symphonic works for the R.T.I. Mediaset Music Library and composed the original score for the documentary film Le nove notti, produced by West 46th Films (Rome), which received the Best Short Documentary award at the Los Angeles Film and Documentary Awards. He also collaborates with artists, recording studios, and cultural institutions as an orchestrator, music engraver, and music producer.

He collaborated with singer Lucia Consigli, writing, performing, and producing piano, chamber, and orchestral arrangements of internationally renowned art and folk songs, culminating in the release of the EP Le Noël de la rue in 2023. As composer and pianist, he is also a member of Duo Khumatos, alongside drummer Riccardo Taglietti. In 2022 the duo released La Duplice Via del Suono, an EP of original works exploring the fusion of diverse musical languages, and in 2025 they performed live on RAI Radio 3.

Passionate about philosophy and writing, he also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophical Studies from the University of Parma.

Absolute music, applied music - for film, dance, theatre, and the media - and popular music all belong to the broad spectrum of his artistic activity. His work is distinguished by an open and integrated approach in which these fields interact through mutual influence, exchange, and creative synergy, not to dissolve their identities but to enrich one another.

"In Luca Tiberini I see a young composer endowed with a rare narrative gift and extraordinary potential. He possesses an eclectic ability to create music in widely different directions, always supported by remarkable clarity of thought, a refined sense of timbre, an exceptional ear for orchestral colour, and a natural lyrical impulse. His melodic writing resonates with confidence and expressive coherence, revealing a mastery of compositional gesture that never ceases to impress me. A true Artist, a true Composer—a clear and dazzling poetic light destined to carry him far and establish him as one of the leading voices of the new generation of Italian contemporary music."
