Website

Born in Palermo, Italy, in 1982, the composer and pianist Giacomo Cuticchio is also one of the latest heir to the Sicilian Puppet Theatre. His father Mimmo Cuticchio is internationally hailed as the most important Sicilian Puppet Master.

Giacomo came to music through the peculiar musicalness of the family theatre: a world of ancient and striking voices, dialect poetry, tales of chivarly, traditional pianolas.

Giacomo Cuticchio’s enchanting music goes directly into the listeners’ biorhythm, and is often spiced with reminiscences of Italian Renaissance music and echoes of traditional pianolas.

The accessibility of Giacomo Cuticchio’s music rises from the very heart of archetypal forms, and owes its immediacy to Giacomo’s attentions to sound itself.
