Giovanni Sollima and his 100 cellos launch the first contest of composition "In clausura".
The call is open to young Italian and foreign composers.
The jury - chaired by Nicola Piovani and composed by Piero Ostali, music publisher, Enrico Melozzi, composer; Silvia Colasanti, composer, and a citizen/founding member of the Fondazione Teatro Valle - will select 8 candidates who will be admitted to the test and "placed in seclusion," for a period of approximately 12 hours.
On May 1 st, 2013 at 11 am, the 100 cellos directed by Giovanni Sollima, in the presence of the jury and the audience, will perform the 8 tracks produced during the period of seclusion, in short version for a period of about 1 minute. The best piece will be elected and will be performed in its entirety than 2 minutes.
The winning composition will be published by Casa Musicale Sonzogno in Milan and will be performed on stage on May 1st during the performance of the 100 cellos.
The 8 tracks will be the subject of a future new program on Radio 3.
