VESSICCHIO Giuseppe

Bio

Composer, conductor, writer and researcher in the music therapy area, known with the diminutive of Peppe or Beppe, he was born in Naples where he made his first steps in the world of music.

 

He composed songs or made arrangements for many pop/rock singers, including Edoardo Bennato, Gino Paoli, Zucchero, Eros Ramazzotti. Among his compositions Sogno emerges internationally, a song performed by Andrea Bocelli, a romanza that gave the title to an album which has sold over nine million copies.

 

He has participated as musical director in many television productions, and in particular has been a regular presence at the ‘Festival Internazionale della Canzone Italiana’ in Sanremo since 1990, receiving in 1994, in 1997 and in 1998 the prize for the best arranger; in the 2000’ edition he was awarded by a special jury presided over by Luciano Pavarotti.

 

He has directed the 'Vivaldi Orchestra' of Moscow on worldwide broadcast for the tenth anniversary of the death of John Lennon in the 'Red Hall' of the Kremlin; in 2016 he obtained a recognition from the Parliament which included him among the first "100 Italian excellences". In 2017 he published his first book, ‘La musica fa crescere i pomodori’, on the beneficial effects that certain harmonic structures produce on plants. In 2018 at the Artemiofranchi stadium in Florence he was the conductor for the fourth edition of the "Rockin '1000" project, conducting the world's biggest band, composed by 1.500 musicians, with as guest of honor Courtney Love.

 

In 2018 he began his collaboration with the Casa Musicale Sonzogno, with the publication of the song Ashram.
