A piece written to celebrate the completion of the restoration of the Church of Santa Maria dello Spasimo in Palermo. It is a work that was 'written, performed and ultimately vanished centuries ago between lyrical fallen stones contaminated by architectural, linguistic, and sonorous superimpositions derived from Palermo's diversity ... a work of strong contrasts in equilibrium from Islamic chant to the crude hyper-expressivity of rock' (Sollima). Performed in Italy and abroad in New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Boston and Montreal.

Composed in: 1995
