PANARIELLO Gaetano

Bio

Gaetano Panariello studied at the Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella in Naples under the guidance of Aladino Di Martino and Tita Parisi. He received the Diploma of Membership in 1985/86 and the Diploma of specialization in Composition at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome under the leadership of Franco Donatoni. He's also graduated in piano, choral music and choral conducting and has followed studies of Conducting and Law (University of Naples Federico II) .

In 1982, he landed his first job for the teaching of harmony and counterpoint at the Conservatory F. Cilea of Reggio Calabria; he later taught at the conservatories of Bari, Potenza, Salerno, Naples.

From 1989 to 2007 he was Professor of Harmony, Counterpoint an Composition at the Conservatory "D. Cimarosa" in Avellino where he was before deputy director (1997/2000) and then director (2000/2005). From 2004 to 2006, was director of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Avellino. From 2008 to 2011 he was Adjunct Professor of Musicology and Music History at the University of Salerno and member of the Board of Directors of the Conservatorio San Pietro a Majella in Naples.

Since 2008 he is Professor of Composition at the Conservatory San Pietro a Majella in Naples.
